During the current fiscal year FY25, The Technical College System of Georgia Office of Adult Education (TCSG OAE) launched an intensive “Earn your GED in 3 Days” initiative in various parts of the state. This initiative aims to provide adult learners across our 13-county service delivery area the chance to successfully earn their HSE/GED diploma in 3 days. Coastal Pines Technical College’s (CPTC) Adult Education Program was selected as one of five Adult Education Programs in Georgia charged by TCSG OAE to lead this initiative.
Adult students who met the requirements to enroll in the 3 Day Accelerated Academy received free targeted instruction, meals, GED Ready practice test and the Technical College System of Georgia HOPE HSE4FREE Scholarship to pay for their GED test!
Katrena Felder, Executive Director of Coastal Pines Technical College's Adult Education Program states, "I am grateful and honored to say that CPTC Adult Education Program rose to the occasion of this pilot program. 15 adult students (never enrolled in an adult education program) only needed an opportunity to change the narrative about what statistics show for individuals who have less than a high school education. These eager and ambitious individuals transitioned from students to GRADUATES in exactly 3 days!"
These graduates were dedicated to the process and trusted CPTC's adult education instructors and staff to lead the way. Without a doubt, adult education programs and technical colleges are the antidote to the growing demands of today’s economy. Congratulations to these HSE graduates and Accelerated Academy completers!
