Coastal Pines Set to Host Summer Day Camp

Posted on

Coastal Pines Technical College is excited to announce that registration for its inaugural Technical & Industrial Program Day Camp has officially reached full capacity. The four-day camp, taking place June 22-25 on the Waycross Campus, will welcome a full group of current ninth-grade students for an immersive, hands-on experience in some of the region’s most in-demand technical career fields.

Sponsored by the Coastal Pines Technical College Foundation, the Technical & Industrial Program Day Camp was created to introduce students to career opportunities in skilled trades and industrial technologies at an early age. Throughout the week, students will participate in engaging activities and demonstrations in areas such as Automotive Technology, Welding and Joining Technology, Electronics, Forestry, and more.

The camp is designed to give students a firsthand look at the tools, technology, and career pathways available through technical education while allowing them to interact with instructors and explore programs in a fun and supportive environment.

“We are thrilled with the response to our very first Technical & Industrial Program Day Camp,” said Amanda Foreman, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Executive Vice President. “Seeing the camp fill so quickly shows there is a strong interest among students and families in technical education and skilled trades. We are excited to provide these students with hands-on experiences that could spark future careers and passions.”

Camp sessions will be held each day from 8:30 a.m. until noon and will focus on hands-on learning, teamwork, and career exploration. Students will have the opportunity to work in lab environments, learn basic technical skills, and gain exposure to industries that continue to experience strong workforce demand throughout the region and state.

Coastal Pines Technical College looks forward to welcoming students to campus this summer and hopes this first camp will serve as the beginning of a growing opportunity for local students to discover careers in technical and industrial fields.
