Margaret West, a Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) accounting student, was recently selected as the 2014-15 recipient of the Coastal Pines Technical College Charles Eames Academic Scholarship. West is employed full time at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs as a housing processor and serves as an assistant director of the children’s choir at First Baptist Church in Blackshear.
“I chose Coastal Pines Technical College to further my love of accounting. I am looking forward to graduating in May 2015 and going on to get my bachelor’s degree,” states West.
West used the money to cover the cost of tuition and books.
Eames, retired director of the Okefenokee Regional Library System (ORLS), community champion and volunteer, established the Charles Eames Endowed Scholarship Fund in December 2008 to benefit CPTC students through scholarships and literacy programs.
CPTC Vice President for Institutional Advancement Cindy Tanner and the Foundation trustees congratulate Margaret West on the award and extend sincere appreciation to Charles Eames for his generous contributions to the community and CPTC.
