Wayne Memorial Hospital recently made a donation to the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Foundation. The hospital donated a labor and delivery bed to be used by the CPTC Associate of Science Nursing program on the Jesup campus. The bed is valued at $11,500 and will be a great learning tool for the nursing students in the program to be better prepared for real life medical situations.
“Wayne Memorial is proud to be able to work with Coastal Pines in any way possible. They are a tremendous asset to our community. They are the gold standard when it comes to technical colleges, and we could not be more excited about the new ASN program. We look forward to working even closer with them in the future.”, states Joe Ierardi, CEO of Wayne Memorial Hospital.
“Our partnerships with local businesses like Wayne Memorial Hospital is an essential part of our core mission.” states Dr. Glenn Deibert, President of Coastal Pines Technical College, “We realize how important it is to provide hands-on training to our students using the same equipment used by local employers. Sometimes this can only be accomplished when our industry partners donate specialized equipment like this labor and delivery bed.”
The Associate of Science Nursing (ASN) program at Coastal Pines will see its inaugural cohort begin in January of 2020. Students who successfully complete the ASN Program with Coastal Pines Technical College will have an excellent opportunity to enter the workforce in the area that they live as well as meet the workforce demands in the medical field.
