Toni Nelson To Address OTC Graduates at Friday Night Ceremony
Alisa (Toni) Nelson of Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross will be the featured speaker at OTC’s evening commencement to be held at the Waycross Middle School auditorium Friday, February 1, at 7 p.m.
Nelson is the marketing and public relations coordinator at Mayo Clinic. She has worked at Mayo (formerly Satilla Regional Health System) for 20 years in various roles. In her current position she assists in identifying health care needs for the community, coordinates external events, and assists with hospital and service line marketing plans and implementation.
Toni is a graduate of Pierce County High School and Okefenokee Technical College. After earning certification in Computer Operations and Automated Accounting from OTC, Nelson continued her education at Kennedy-Western University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Mrs. Nelson serves on several boards in the community, including the Waycross-Ware County Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, Kiwanis Club of Waycross (Immediate Past President), Satilla Hospice Board, Concerted Services Health Services Advisory Committee, and Okefenokee Technical College Board of Directors. She also serves on several community committees, including Megan’s House “Easter Seals” Decathlon, Waycross Police Department’s Senior Safety Day, Children’s Initiative, Pierce County Family Connections, and Ware County Board of Education Community Leader.
In her spare time she enjoys working with her church, Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E., and spending time with family. She is the wife of Commissioner Alvin Nelson and the mother of two daughters, Amber and Angel.
