Students Inducted Into National Technical Honor Society

Coastal Pines Technical College held its first National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) induction ceremonies May 18 (Jesup campus) and May 19 (Waycross campus) to recognize the college’s brightest students and welcome them into the national organization. In order to qualify for the National Technical Honor Society, students must be nominated by a program instructor, have a 3.75 or higher average (for a minimum of 30 semester hours), and earn no less than a 2.0 work ethics grade in every course. In addition, NTHS members must excel in seven competency areas: skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership.
The following CPTC students were inducted:Lisa Copeland (Camden), Criminal Justice AAS; Phillip Cravey (Glynn), Air Conditioning Technology; Nathan Fry (Glynn), Air Conditioning Technology; Christopher Inman (Pierce), Networking Specialist AAS; Rivers King (Charlton), Criminal Justice; Brianna Knight (Glynn), Practical Nursing; Jennifer Matos (Wayne), Criminal Justice AAS; Joshua Meunier (Glynn), MS Word Applications Professional; Weldon Powell (Pierce), Forest Technology AAS; Jerome Sikes (Appling), Drafting Technology AAS; Allie Smith (Ware), Cosmetology; Nathan Smith (Ware), Networking Specialist AAS; Richard Smith (Glynn), Air Conditioning Technology; and Patricia Tanner (Camden), Business Administrative Technology.
NTHS is an honor society that strives to bring well deserved recognition, scholarship opportunities, and career opportunities to students who excel in career and technical educational. Not only do NTHS students embody all the attributes and talent in demand today, but they also embrace a clear vision for tomorrow’s workforce and their role in it.
