SkillsUSA Students from Coastal Pines Compete in Atlanta

Recently, a group of students and instructors from Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) along with several instructors traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for the SkillsUSA Postsecondary Competition. Of the ten students attending and competing on behalf of Coastal Pines, several received recognition.
Jodian Fuller, Medical Assisting student on the Golden Isles instructional site, received the gold medal in the Medical Assisting competition and will be representing CPTC at the National Championship in Kentucky this summer. Mike Hand, welding student from the Hazlehurst instructional site, received the bronze medal in Welding Sculpture. Jochia Murfree, drafting student from the Golden Isles instructional site received the bronze medal in Architectural Drafting. Jessica Sellers, Health Care Assistant student from the Golden Isles instructional site, received the bronze medal in Medical Terminology. Also competing and representing CPTC were Brent Badis, Collette Hall, D’Armand Henley-Blash, Lael Ranaldson, Fahima Rastagar, and Jason Smith. Traveling with the students were instructors Greg Bennett, Debbie Downs, Larry Goodman, Robert Hubbard, and Laura Waters. These instructors took the time to go along as advisors and helped make the trip a success.
