OTC SkillsUSA Chapter Holds Successful Blood Drive
The Okefenokee Technical College SkillsUSA chapter sponsored a Red Cross Blood Drive on the Waycross campus February 21, 2012, as one of its community service projects for 2012. The American Red Cross set a goal of 24 units of blood. Twenty-nine units of blood were collected during the five-hour drive, reports chapter co-advisor Brent Clemmer. SkillsUSA members helped distribute materials, set up and dismantle the room, and register participants.
Club advisors and members wish to thank all donors for their generosity. They also want to give a special “shout out” to Mrs. Brenda Kirkland’s LPN class, who contributed the most units. Members and advisors hope to sponsor three more blood drives this year. Congratulations to SkillsUSA members and chapter advisors Brent Clemmer, Debra Moody, and Eddie Murray for a successful project.
