Jordan Watkins, a senior in the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) radiologic technology program, was selected fall 2014 as a 2014-15 Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) Foundation Academic Scholarship recipient.
CPTC radiologic technology instructor Mrs. Donna Yeomans (left) recommended Watkins for the scholarship and joined CPTC President Dr. Glenn Deibert in congratulating her for outstanding performance and success.
According to OTC Foundation Executive Director Cindy Tanner, recipients of academic scholarships must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, make application for the award, and meet other specific criteria determined by the foundation scholarship committee.
Watkins was a 2014 nominee for GOAL and a volunteer for the 2014 OTC Foundation Toolbox Scholarship Golf Tournament, an annual fundraiser to benefit CPTC students.
Watkins will use the scholarship funds for tuition and fees, the radiology registry exam, and other educational expenses that lead to graduation and advance her career, explained Tanner.
Watkins’ award was made possible by The Monroe Foundation. OTC Foundation Chair, Larry Paulk, and OTC Foundation trustees congratulate Jordan Watkins and thank the Monroe family for their generous donations which funded this scholarship and numerous others.
In addition to academic scholarships, the OTC Foundation awards toolbox scholarships, hardship grants & scholarships, and a number of restricted or named scholarships throughout the academic year.
