Hamilton Is Winner of OTC FAFSA Frenzy Kindle Fire
Congratulations to Cheyenne Hamilton of Bickley, Georgia! It really does pay to plan ahead and apply early. Just ask Cheyenne, the winner of a new Kindle Fire donated by the OTC Student Government Association.
Cheyenne, an OTC student on the Alma campus, and 892 other OTC students were automatically entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire when they completed a 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the May 13 Financial Aid FAFSA Frenzy deadline. Hamilton, an upcoming nursing student, was the winner. The drawing took place May 13, 2013, on the Waycross campus.
The Financial Aid FAFSA Frenzy was launched by the OTC Office of Financial Aid as an incentive to entice students to apply early and avoid financial aid delays. According to OTC Financial Aid Director Josh Dasher, Cheyenne Hamilton completed the 2013-2014 FAFSA February 3. Tiffany McLean, OTC financial aid specialist, and Dasher promoted and coordinated the drawing.
“If you didn’t make it to the Frenzy, no worries,” said McLean. “It’s not too late to complete a FAFSA for fall semester. Financial aid priority deadline is July 25.” Fall semester begins August 19.
