George Farr is shown here (photo on the right) showing off a beautiful, full extension catnapper recliner in leather-like microfiber fabric. The recliner, which retails for $749 and has a number of stylish features, was donated by Farr’s Fine Furniture to the Okefenokee Technical College Foundation as a prize for the 2015 Toolbox Scholarship Golf Tournament to be held October 16.
“This is the fourth consecutive year Farr’s has donated a recliner for the “Tee It Up For Tools” Toolbox Scholarship Golf Tournament, states Cindy Tanner, executive director of the Foundation. “We sincerely appreciate our sponsors and supporters, like Farr’s Fine Furniture, who make the event a success.”
“Join us Friday, October 16, at the Okefenokee Golf and Country Club for a fun day and a chance to win this prize and many others,” continued Tanner. “We have gift cards from various businesses and other prizes, including a new truck for the hole-in-one competition. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m., and shotgun start is 12:30 p.m. Cash awards, complimentary gifts, door prizes, and other awards will be delivered after play.”
Friday’s fundraiser will benefit Coastal Pines Technical College students by providing financial assistance for tuition and program “tools” and books. According to Tanner, the OTC Foundation provided financial assistance to 79 students in 2014 through the toolbox scholarship program. The total amount awarded exceeded $17,000.
