October 15, 2018 09:53 AM

On Thursday, September 27, 2018, Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) hosted a Dual Enrollment Luncheon for high schools in the CPTC service delivery area. Administrators from each school were invited to learn about Dual Enrollment updates from our Technical College System of Georgia partners, as well as a College update from Glenn Deibert, President of Coastal Pines Technical College.

This annual event is an opportunity to recognize CPTC’s high school partners for their commitment and dedication to the Dual Enrollment program. During the luncheon, three exceptional high schools were honored as achieving the Highest Credit Hour Enrollment per student for the Fall 2018 term. The winning high schools were selected after being divided into categories based on school size.

For Division I, Charlton County High School was recognized. Charlton County High School had 109 students enrolled with CPTC this semester, each earning an average of 5.57 credit hours. Eryn Parsons, High School Coordinator for CPTC, presented Dr. Joshua Howard, Principal at Charlton County High School, with this prestigious award.

In Division II, Pierce County High School stood out against its peers. Pierce County High School had a total of 288 students enrolled with CPTC this semester, with each student earning an impressive 8.82 credit hours. Carley McDonald, High School Coordinator for CPTC, was on hand to present this award to Mrs. Angie Milton, Guidance Counselor for Pierce County High School.

For Division III, Camden County High School was the clear winner. Camden County High School had a staggering 609 students enrolled with CPTC Fall Semester, each student earning approximately 5.43 credit hours. Camden County High School also earned the distinct honor of having the largest number of Dual Enrollment students within the state of Georgia. Becca Croy, High School Coordinator for CPTC, presented Dr. John Tucker, Principal at Camden County High School, with this distinguished award.

Coastal Pines attained record Dual Enrollment numbers for Fall 2018 with 1,822 high school students registered across the 13 county service delivery area. This makes up 52% of total student enrollment for Fall term. The Dual Enrollment program continues to produce high student numbers each semester for Coastal Pines, and across the state. CPTC has achieved a 23.68% increase from Fall 2017 to 2018. Coastal Pines Technical Colleges dedicated staff is to be commended for a job well done, as well as all of the participating high school leadership teams, counselors, and instructors for their desire to support and participate in the Dual Enrollment program. Without the help of each person, Dual Enrollment would not be successful.
