Dr. Bonnie Davis of Charlton County was selected last summer to join the Okefenokee Technical College Foundation Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Dr. Davis, Programs Manager for The Geo Group, has worked closely with Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) on numerous projects and partnerships. Prior to joining the Foundation Board, Dr. Davis served on the OTC Board of Directors. She was a board director for three consecutive terms, from July 2003 until June 2012, the maximum number of years allowed.
“We are very pleased that Dr. Davis agreed to support the college as a Foundation Board member. She was an enthusiastic advocate for the college as an OTC Board Director, and she has already demonstrated the same level of dedication and support as a trustee,” stated OTC President, Dr. Glenn Deibert.
Dr. Davis was asked to join the Foundation Board in August 2012. Her term began in October. OTC Foundation trustees serve as advisors in the advancement of the college, planning and implementing resource development activities. Through an annual drive and other initiatives, the Foundation focuses on raising friends and funds for scholarships, programs, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, and other emerging and existing academic initiatives and priorities that help students be successful and help the community grow.
While an OTC Board Director, Dr. Davis and her husband, Marion Davis, provided assistance to students through their support of the OTC Foundation and Foundation fundraisers.
On behalf of the trustees, OTC Foundation Chair Larry Paulk extends a hearty thank you to Dr. Davis as she promotes OTC through service on the OTC Foundation Board of Trustees.
