The Timber Harvesting Operations Certificate program provides students safety and procedure and operations training using industry standard harvesting equipment. Sponsors provide new equipment for the students to operate, alloing them to experience the most advanced forestry technology equipment on the market.
The operations portion of the program exposes students to safety training, procedure training, hands-on equipment operations and harvesting practice. By the end of the operations class, students will have obtained 50 hours of practical experience.
This year, CPTC is pleased to host 7 international students who traveled from Newton Rigg College located in Cumbria, England (UK). Pictured are the UK students (orange shirts) and instructors.
Additionally, we would like to thank the gracious operations sponsors: Coca-Cola, Flint Equipment Company, Georgia BioMass, Georgia Forestry Commission, Packaging Corporation of America, Pierce Timber Company, Tidewater Equipment Company, and Yancey Bros. Company.
