Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) is well known for its diversity in allied health programs. Recently, CPTC made the decision to merge all of its Nursing Programs into one, all encompassing “Nursing Department”. The department, led by Dr. Knicole Lee, will include Nurse Aide (traditional and dual enrollment), Practical Nursing, and the new Associate of Science Nursing Program.
"Moving the Nurse Aide certificate, Practical Nursing diploma and the new Associate of Science in Nursing programs into one department will help Coastal Pines Technical College to better serve our students, become more cost efficient and better promote a seamless career pathway for our students." states Dr. Glenn Deibert, President of Coastal Pines Technical College.
The Nursing shortage in Georgia has been discussed at length by the Governor, Legislators, and our Healthcare Partners. Coastal Pines has experienced enrollment growth for eight consecutive semesters while providing existing and new programs that meet the workforce demands and education needs of southeast Georgia. This new department will enable the nursing programs at Coastal Pines to work closely together to advise students, share clinical spaces, and recruit students for the profession.
