Coastal Pines Students Receive Charles Eames Travel Scholarship

March 6, 2019 10:07 AM

On Thursday, February 28, 2019, the Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC) Foundation hosted the Charles Eames Travel Fund Scholarship Luncheon on the College’s Waycross Campus. This semester, the Foundation recognized forty students who were chosen to receive a scholarship. Mr. Eames was present to award the twelve attending students with their check as well as get to know the students, learn more about their educational goals, and hear more on how they could benefit from the scholarship. Through the generous support of Mr. Eames, the Foundation continues to be able reward these hardworking students for another semester.

In late 2013, Mr. Charles Eames established the first two Charles Eames Travel Funds, one with the James M. Dye Foundation at South Georgia State College (SGSC) and the other with the Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) Foundation, now Coastal Pines Technical College Foundation. The purpose of the funds was the same as now, to assist students with the everyday costs of traveling to campuses for classes and clinical rotations. Mr. Eames continues to fund the Foundation Scholarship each semester as he sees the great need for students to graduate and enter the work force.
