Coastal Pines Technical College Student Government Association (SGA) delegates, along with their counterparts from across the state, attended the 2016 SGA/NTHS Winter Conference February 26-28 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The conference theme, “Discover Your Inner Superhero: Capturing the Leader Within” was well received by participants who attended numerous leadership sessions and workshops.
Stephanie Roberts, CPTC student activities coordinator and SGA advisor, attended the conference and sessions, as well. “The conference sessions were excellent, as usual,” said Roberts. “Not only did we learn leadership skills, but the conference was also a great opportunity for our students, who are from several different CPTC campuses, to get to know one another better,” continued Roberts.
Students representing the CPTC Student Government Association at conference were Michael Collins, secretary; Sara Cross; Jay Gormley; Chrissa James; Michelle Krauss, vice president; Dennis Lemley; and Guylee Washington, president.
The purpose of the organization is to support the general welfare of students and provide a link between the student body and college administration. Throughout the year, SGA plans activities that enhance student life and promote community involvement. For more information, visit www.coastalpines.edu.
