912 Sports will name a Coastal Pines Technical College Player of the Week each week during the 2019 high school football season. The week one winner is Camden County Senior, Logan Watson. Watson is the Camden Wildcat’s quarterback.
The Camden County Wildcats are piling up yards and points early in the 2019 season, and senior quarterback Logan Watson is very much a big reason for that.
This past week, Camden’s senior signal-caller passed for 261 yards and four touchdowns as the Wildcats toppled Wren (S.C) 52-44 in a game played at Mercer University in Macon. Watson was 15-of-19 on the night while also rushing for a touchdown in the high-scoring contest. One of his touchdown passes covered 92 yards.
For his performance, Watson has been named the Coastal Pines Technical College Player of the Week in the 912 Sports coverage area.
“Logan has played extremely well in both of our games,” said Camden head coach Bob Sphire. “He is making smart decisions and is commanding the offense with efficiency. Two of the touchdown throws Friday night were plays that he checked.”
Through two games, Watson is 26-for-33 for 397 yards and seven touchdowns with one interception. He passed for 136 yards and three touchdowns in Camden’s season-opening 47-6 victory over West Forsyth.
Watson is listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds on Camden’s roster.
“The more he carries the system to the field as an extension of the coaching staff, the more efficient the offense can be,” Sphire said.
