Mike Cave (right), BB&T market president, recently presented Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) President Dr. Glenn Deibert with a generous donation to the OTC Foundation to help fund Toolbox Scholarships for deserving OTC students.
“We’re proud to support Okefenokee Technical College,” stated Cave. “We know that our contribution will help the community and deserving students. When students succeed academically and learn skills that make them better employees, everyone benefits.”
Dr. Deibert and Cindy Tanner, executive director of the OTC Foundation, thanked Mr. Cave for BB&T’s support. “We appreciate BB&T’s commitment to helping students overcome financial barriers to higher education,” said Deibert. “It’s a smart investment.”
“Since 2005, the OTC Foundation has assisted more than 640 students with tuition, books, program supplies, and uniforms through the Toolbox Scholarship Fund,” stated Tanner. We are very thankful for our supporters, like BB&T, who contribute annually, a practice that has resulted in over $138,000 for scholarships since 2005 to help OTC students stay in college, complete programs, and go to work or advance in a career.”
