Altamaha Technical College Board applauds employee achievement
July 23, 2012) – Altamaha Technical College Board recognized two employees for outstanding service to the College during its last regular monthly meeting July 18.
Robert Knight, a business administration technology professor from the Baxley Campus, was recognized with 10 years of faithful service to Altamaha Technical College. Knight was pinned with a 10-year service medal by President Lorette Hoover during the recognition ceremony as Board Chair Randal Morris presented him with a certificate of service.
In honor of her coordination of the State Charitable Contributions Campaign, Janet Carter of the Jesup Campus, was recognized for her service last year while employed as the Human Resources Specialist. She currently holds the position of Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator.
The State Charitable Contributions Campaign allows state employees to make donations to deserving local, regional and state non-profit organizations and foundations through elected payroll contributions. Altamaha Technical College employees contributed $1,146 last year to the State Charitable Contributions Campaign. President Hoover and Board Chair Morris presented Carter with a certificate of appreciation from the United Way, one of the non-profit organizations benefiting from the program.
The Altamaha Technical College Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from the College’s seven-county service delivery area, and meets monthly to discuss the administration of the recently SACSCOC-accredited technical college.
