Career Services:

Veteran and Military Transition Center, is a one-stop website for employment, training and financial help after military service, sponsored by the U.S. Dept of Labor and partner of the American Job Center network.

Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects transitioning active-duty military service members, veterans, National Guard and Reservists with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry. The program is designed to help military service members successfully transition back into civilian life by offering them the means to secure a quality career in the construction industry.

Green Zone Program for Veterans:

An initiative to support student veterans by designating locations recognized as a “safe place”. Identifies faculty and staff throughout CPTC who are knowledgeable about issues faced by student veterans and the resources available to assist them.

Volunteers are identified by a Green Zone emblem located outside their office door and on their syllabus.

Helps faculty and staff provide supportive services necessary to ensure that veteran students are successful in their academic pursuits, adjust to the campus environment, and eventually transition to civilian employment.

Voluteers are not expected to be experts who can “solve problems.” They are individuals who can lend a sympathetic ear and help the student veteran identify and connect with the appropriate resources.

Mission Statement

The objective of the Green Zone Program is to increase the knowledge and skills of the faculty and staff to identify and address the needs of Veterans and assist them in successfully completing their transition from military to college and civilian life. Green Zones are clearly marked locations recognized by Veteran students as a “safe place.”

  1. Increase knowledge of military terms and experiences of student veterans at CPTC
  2. Enhance understanding of challenges student veterans face transitioning from military life to a college environment
  3. Provide access to training and resources to support student veterans at CPTC.
