Altamaha Technical College and Okefenokee Technical College will be merged effective July 1, 2014, under a plan adopted in early August by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia. Coastal Pines Technical College will be the new college name when the two colleges merge.
Altamaha Technical College currently serves Appling, Camden, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Long, McIntosh and Wayne Counties. Okefenokee Technical College serves Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Clinch, Pierce and Ware counties.
No campuses will be closed and the college's other programs, including adult education, continuing education, and customized workforce training for business and industry, will continue as before.
