In December, CPTC announced that Shawn Turberville, a Wayne County resident, has been selected as Coastal Pines Technical College's 2017 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) winner.
EAGLE is a statewide program that recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in adult education programs and is sponsored by the Technical College System of Georgia through the Office of Adult Education.
The program is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunitities that are available in local communities and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning.
Students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education programs are nominated by their instructors for this tribute.
Shawn is a student at the Adult Education Center in Jesup. He will represent Coastal Pines Technical College and compete in the regional competition in February and will attend the EAGLE Conference in Atlanta in March (2017).
CPTC knows that Shawn will represent the college well during the next rounds of competition at the region and state levels.
