Rose Ceremony for Nurse Aide Completers
(March 18, 2013) – Altamaha Technical College’s Jesup Campus held a Rose Ceremony March 18 for students completing the Nurse Aide program during the fall 2012 semester.
Students from both the Jesup Evening Class and the Wayne County High School (WCHS) Dual Enrollment Class were recognized during the ceremony.
Students participating in the evening class are Jennifer Flory, Laurell Ivey, Kristena Kenn, Erica Lane and Melinda Wolfe of Jesup, Kristina Franklin of Screven, Jackie Jones of Hortense and Jennifer Williams of Waynesville. Students participating from the WCHS Dual Enrollment Class were Constance Brown, Jenna Foster, Sydney Howard, Malika Jenkins, Kimberly King, Dayshanay Love, Krystal Nelson, Tamara Roberts, Courtney Thompson, Brandon Thornton and Rebecca Walker.
Dr. Al Cunningham, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed students, family and friends to the evening ceremony. Nursing instructor Virginia Lea Rothwell, R.N. B.S.N, introduced the program. Jennifer Flory, a licensed practical nursing student, gave the invocation, and Laurel Ivey, a health care assistant student, reviewed the “Code of Ethics”. Jackie Jones, a health care assistant student, read an inspirational poem written by Mother Teresa. Jilda Brown, R.N., Cheryl Johnson, R.N., and Virginia Lea Rothwell presented each student with a rose. Rebecca Walker, a WCHS student, offered the benediction.
Graduates and guests were invited to a reception held in the atrium immediately following the ceremony. Students from the current Dual Enrollment Nurse Aide class assisted with the reception.
