OTC Announces Health Careers Summer Camp for Middle School Students
Okefenokee Technical College (OTC) officials are pleased to announce that OTC will coordinate and host a Health Careers Summer Camp for middle school students June 16-19, 2014. Middle grade students are invited to apply for the camp, which will be held at the OTC allied health building on the Waycross Campus and at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.
The purpose of the camp is to encourage students to pursue health career opportunities and build a career plan for the future. Participants will learn about health career options, tour the Mayo Clinic Health System, speak with healthcare professionals, and meet other students with similar interests. Sponsors are Magnolia Coastlands Area Health Education Center, Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, and Okefenokee Technical College. Applicants must be in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade now and apply by April 15, 2014, to be considered. Because the selection process is competitive and participation is limited to thirty-two individuals, students should apply early.
