An enthusiastic group of Bacon County High School students and teachers visited the OTC Alma campus cosmetology salon Monday, September 30, for mini-makeovers. Cosmetology instructor Ollie Harkleroad and OTC cosmetology students shared information about the program with high school students and offered them a variety of salon services.
“Most of the clients (high school students) received either a manicure, pedicure, haircut, or style,” said Harkleroad. “Some of them even had time for multiple salon services.”
“The students and their teachers were very complimentary,” said Kate Bussey, student affairs coordinator, referring to the comments by high school students about the salon services provided by OTC. “The students left happy and ‘beautified,’” continued Bussey.
The Alma salon is open to the public Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. until noon and Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. To make an appointment, call (912) 632-7716.
